All you need is a working client config file from your old configuration or your admin. In the case of Cisco that is a pcf file. You just run the file and the NCP Import wizard will import all the settings automatically - works like a charm. As Karsten has already mentioned Cisco VPN Client is end of support and you should move to AnyConnect. That being said, there is a work-around. To fix this (on Vista in my example) you need: 1) Go to Services, find Cisco service, logon tab, uncheck "Interact with desktop" check box. Restart service.
